Punctuality and Absence
Children need to be in school every day unless they are ill or there are exceptional circumstances. Our gates open at 8.30am to allow children to come into school, organise their belongings and be ready to learn when teaching starts promptly at 8.45am.
Attendance Matters!
Good attendance and punctuality helps the children settle in at school and not miss out on vital learning and social experiences. Children with poor attendance can fall behind and catching up can be tricky. We expect the children to have a minimum attendance of 96% and it is the parents/carer's responsibility to ensure that their child(ren) have good attendance. The Senior Leadership Team monitors attendance and will contact parents should they become concerned.
Absence due to illness / appointments
For all absences the school requires notification by letter, e-mail or phone call and we ask that you contact the school office before 9.30am of the first day of absence. If your child is unwell and suffers from sickness or diarrhoea, please give 48hours in which to recover. We also need to have prior notice of any dental, doctor’s appointments or any other reason which may mean your child is out of school.
Absence due to holidays
All holidays in term time will be deemed as ‘unauthorised’. Please let the school office know prior to your holiday if you are taking your child out of school.
